PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), commonly known as "Teflon", is a synthetic polymer consisting of a chain of carbon atoms coated with fluorine atoms. PTFE has properties such as lubricity, chemical resistance, electrical insulation and high temperature resistance. These properties make PTFE widely available in various industries.

Properties of PTFE:
High Temperature Resistance: PTFE retains its properties at temperatures up to 260°C and its melting point is around 327°C. Chemical Resistance: PTFE is resistant to most chemicals. Acids, bases, solvents and oils cannot affect PTFE. Low Coefficient of Friction: PTFE has a very low coefficient of friction and a non-sticky surface. Insulation: PTFE is an excellent electrical insulator and is therefore used in electronic applications. Non-stick: Since the surface of PTFE is non-stick, it is frequently preferred in kitchen utensils.

Areas of Use of PTFE:

Kitchenware: PTFE is widely used as a non-stick surface coating on pots, pans and baking sheets. In this way, it prevents food from sticking and is easy to clean. Chemical Industry: Thanks to its chemical resistance, it is used in reactor coatings, pipelines, valves and gaskets. It is preferred in systems working with corrosive and aggressive chemicals. Electrical and Electronics: Due to its high electrical insulation, it is used in cable insulation, circuit boards and various electronic components. Automotive Industry: PTFE is used as a friction-reducing coating. It is also preferred to provide chemical resistance in fuel hoses, gaskets and engine parts. Medical and Health Sector: PTFE is a biocompatible material and is used in medical devices, prostheses and implants. It is resistant to sterilization processes. Aviation and Space Industry: It is preferred in aircraft, rocket and satellite components thanks to its high temperature resistance and low weight. Textile Industry: PTFE threads are used to provide waterproofing and stain resistance in fabrics. It is also preferred in industrial filters. PTFE is widely used in many different areas thanks to its superior properties. This material stands out for its durability and performance in extreme conditions.
